How the founding members of the #Eagles came together to sign for Asylum Records in Los Angeles
The Eagles’ road to rock immortality didn’t start in a garage. It started with moving west. Randy Meisner, Bernie Leadon, Don Henley and Glenn Frey all packed up and moved to Los Angeles to seriously pursue the same dream: a professional music career. They were scattered in different places and doing different jobs, but the city was about to squeeze them together.
By 1971, these different paths had converged. What did these four musicians have in common? They were all the backbone of Linda Ronstadt’s backing band. It was a stepping stone for each of them, a place to hone their skills and make connections in the industry. That shared gig was the glue.
